Quick Detailer, Spray Wax & Clay Lubricants

When to Use Quick Detailer or Spray Wax

First things first - quick detailer and spray wax are different names for the same thing. Not a substitute for carnauba wax or paint sealant, they remove dust, fingerprints, bird droppings, bee pollen and other contaminants. In addition, they can give your car that "smooth as glass" show car shine for a short period of time.

Meguiar's Ultimate Quik Detailer is the latest generation of hydrophobic polymer technology created by the pioneer in the industry. Since it's invention, many detailing product manufacturers have introduced their own versions. Best used between car washes, quik wax is easy to apply. Working a section at a time, just spray and wipe with a clean microfiber towel.

In comparison, waterless washes tend to have high lubricity formulas and are more effective at cleaning. They may also offer some synthetic wax protection and UV protection. A bit more on the pricey side, these type of products take a little longer to dry and may leave a little streaking, especially on dark colors.

Also known as clay lube, any of these products may be used as a clay lubricant with a clay bar, synthetic clay towel, sponge or mitt.
